Monty is a career musician, one that in his own words "resisted the old 'get a real job' advice & attitude from friends, family, and finance companies" over the years. Born in the '50s in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, Monty took to music at an early age. (As you can see by observing the childhood photos in his web-photo album.) Throughout his life he has developed an appreciation for all types/genres of music and this is readily evident in the diversity of his songwriting. His talents have brought him to the stage with many a well known artist or group from his days as a member of a popular 'garage band' in the '60s to his present endeavors. After years of writing for others and working as a full time musician, Monty is currently furthering his enjoyment of music with songwriting, arranging, producing, and if a project needs some additional attention, working as a studio musician. He now resides in the beautiful state of Oregon and performs with a couple of local bands in addition to enjoying the great outdoors which brings a new inspiration to his writing.
